Eclait is a small candle brand. The collection is four candles, each one named after a Mediterranean city. The scent in the candle is built to match a specific morning in that place — not a season, not a mood word, not "Autumn Harvest Dreams." A morning.
Most candles smell like a corporation's idea of a feeling. Ours smell like a place we can name. Saint-Tropez is coconut, lemon zest, espresso, and sea air — what the Côte d'Azur smells like at 9am, before the tourists. Verona is white peach, basil, espresso crema, and warm marble — Italian lunch on a stone terrace. Provence is lavender, croissant butter, milk foam, and beeswax — a French village boulangerie at opening. Toscana is wild strawberry, fig leaf, garden mint, and sun-warm stone — a Tuscan kitchen garden at noon.
We picked these four because they're the mornings most worth bottling: each one is a specific, named, recognizable kind of light and air. We didn't want a "summer" candle. We wanted Verona at noon and Saint-Tropez at 9am, and the difference between them.
On the price
Our candles are $89 CAD ($79 during launch, with free shipping in Canada)$75 USD ($65 during launch). That sits between Otherland and Maison Margiela Replica — premium without crossing into Diptyque-and-up territory. The math: 280g of coconut–soy wax, cotton wick, real fragrance composition, real packaging, small margin for us. We're not chasing volume; we're chasing repeat buyers.
On the slow shipping
Our candles ship in 14–28 days. Slower than most things you order. We tell you this on every product page, every cart, every checkout, and every order confirmation — because surprising people with slow shipping is bad behaviour. Setting the expectation up front is just good business.
Why a few weeks? We ship direct from the studio instead of through a domestic fulfillment center. That keeps the price honest, the wax in small current batches, and the inventory model lean — and it adds about two weeks of transit. As volume grows, warehousing will move closer to Calgary and the window will tighten. The 60-day no-questions refund covers anything that goes sideways in the meantime.
On the long game
The candle is the entry point. Long term, the brand is about your home as a Mediterranean morning — linen sprays scented like Provence, hand cream that smells like a Verona kitchen, ceramic match strikers, reed diffusers. Same four worlds, more ways to live in them.
